Writes the first actual chapter of The Great Silence. Develops De Quervain tendonitis in his right hand. Sits two exams and graduates the Biennio in Pianoforte on 13 July, with top marks and honorable mention, despite the injury. Starts a contemporary-piano course in Pinerolo with Emanuele Arciuli in the second half of the year.

Wins first prize and the critics’ prize at Premio Argento and the Premio Lilian Caraian with Duo En Blanc Et Noir. Debuts with his trio at the Auditorium Rai FVG in Trieste on 11 September — and the same tendonitis flares up again the very next morning. Plays a second concert with the trio on 14 September, then stops playing entirely and steps away from the conservatorio for about a year.

Wins the absolute platinum prize at the WTPA Finland competition with Duo En Blanc Et Noir. Publishes his first book, Children of Silence, in August. Conceives the Laurence Who identity in the second half of the year.

Graduates the Chamber Music degree in March, with top marks and honorable mention. Formally establishes the Laurence Who identity, and brings together a wide cluster of long-developing projects — concert works, chamber collaborations, an art book, and a live experimental film — consolidating years of separate threads into a single active body of work.
